”La Tercera” is dedicated to my youth growing up in the South Bronx. 3rd Avenue or La Tercera as we called it was the center of commerce for all of us. We had department stores, banks, movie houses, dance halls, cigar shops, record shops, pizza shops, hot dog stands, furniture stores and on top it all, was the noisy 3rd Ave EL train above us. There was so much energy in the 8 block stretch from 149th to 157th street. From Hearn’s to Stan’s Record Shop to Alexander’s to John’s Bargain Store to Loew’s Movie house.....There was always someplace to go or something to do on “La Tercera”.
